Movie: Frank (with Michael Fassbender)

Its a story about a bunch of people getting together somewhere in the woods of Ireland and sorting stuff on how to make music. A young wannabe musician, Jon, discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank and his terrifying sidekick, Clara. Frank’s uniqueness lies in the fact that he makes music purely for the joy of creating…and because he wears a giant fake head. After a rocky start, Jon ingratiates himself with the band members, and they retreat to a cabin in the woods to record an album. As his influence waxes, creative tensions mount, and the band’s right to exist is called into question.

201459_1588295757338_7279890_oI have actually been-there-done-that,(photo) few years ago, me and two friends took off to the middle of France, hiding out in a very special house in the middle of nowhere. With a drum kit, synthesizer and my bassguitar and a lot of other gear. This movie took me down to the memory totally. Only in my case, “my band” totally fell apart and what used to be so valuable in friendship is no longer there. I guess some of us all have a dream to be in a band, I would say, practice tone scales or take music lessons. You need the basics if you want to play music and only then you can start a band! (or become a dj or producer, I have heard some awful dj sets, yes you can mix two things in the beat but if it’s out of key than all you can do is cry, oh wait this is about another topic, haha) And yes, my favorite of my generation is Michael Fassbender, and he shines in this one, he sings as if he does that every day, even wearing a fake giant paper head the entire movie.
