This Monday I was in part of the production of the AVELON SS15, for music direction / dj. Creative director Erik Frenken took his inspiration from the book “Before They Pass Away,” by Jimmy Nelson who documented tribes. For the music I tried various things, I even recomposed a piano piece, but in the end, we decided to go for something more adventureous, so I chose 3 parts of music by Kanding Ray, heavy and shimmering sounds with light pulsating sounds and mixed with a cello layer to swirl up the sexyness that goes so well with Erik’s textures.(for example the skirts almost dance along) The catwalk was set on a very special location, outside in the courtyard of the Residence of Dutch Ambassador, so beautiful, even with a little bit of rain in the beginning of the show! It was on location where part of the movie Intouchables was filmed, and also Viktor & Rolf showed their SS15 collection, earlier that week in Paris.
